Book Reviewed: ‘Are You Ready to Start a Business?’
If you are thinking of
starting up a business, but not quite sure if this is the way you really want to go. Then reading this e-book
should help you make an informed decision.
There are a lot of myths out there about the success and failure rates of new businesses and they could put you
off making that resolution unless the decision is forced upon you by circumstances e.g. being retrenched.

What the Book Contains
It is not often that you will find in one book a summary of all aspects you need to consider when commencing a
business. There is a Quiz so that you can check if you are really ready to start a business; you will better
understand the difference between a wage and a profit; you will have access to a Government report as to the
validity of the myth that 1 in 5 businesses fail; there is a clear distinction drawn around the different business
structures so that you can chose the most suitable one for your business; and much more.
How to develop a Business Plan; the importance of research; how to construct professional Surveys; what
affordable software tools are available to get you started; and a number of templates that can save you hours of
time are also included
What do I think of ‘Are You Ready
to Start a Business?’
I like the simple, user friendly language that is used, making this
book easily understood by everyone. There is no jargon or deep, mysterious philosophy, just down to earth
descriptions of what you need to know when starting up a business.
Some of the statements are backed up by sound research e.g. a Government report and it alerts readers to the
potential decisions they will have to make and the working templates are a real bonus, enabling you to get a
'running start' on the processes you will need to put in place when commencing a business.
The emphasis on understanding the risks, issues and benefits I find very refreshing. Readers are certainly
encouraged to make decisions backed by knowledge. Yet with all the factual information, there is still an emphasis
on the excitement and passion of running your own business
I am very happy to recommend this e-book to anyone thinking of starting up a business as it will ensure that you
are better informed and even provides you with tools to make your job easier and less stressful. It is of great
value.
My overall comment: highly recommended
